Chef Juliana Gonzalez at Johnson & Wales

Inspired by memories of her childhood in the kitchen with her mother, Chef Juliana Gonzalez made the leap from the world of business administration to culinary school and has not looked back since. She relied on her past experiences to help her in ultimately deciding on Catalan cuisine, and now her stellar dishes are making waves in the South Beach culinary scene.

Guests are invited to a delectable four-course meal filled with culinary inspiration. The remarkable menu created by Chef Juliana Gonzalez includes esqueixada with snapper crudo, tomato and pearl onion, and an appetizer of scallops wrapped in Bellota lardo with asparagus and cherry tomato. For the main course, guests will enjoy country paella, a staple on the Barceloneta menu, featuring baby back ribs, organic chicken, rabbit, ceps, bomba rice and alioli. The dessert will be a copa de caramelo with raspberries, chocolate crumble and sea salt.

A $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student from the university’s College of Culinary Arts.
