Bring on the warm beers, face paint, and crazy fans! Football season has begun! This season Digest Miami has come up with a few ways to class up that Football Sunday party. Of course you want the usual crunch & munch, but we have a few gourmet bites that everyone is sure to enjoy.
Our list begins with some recipes from some of Miami's top restaurants and chefs.
For starters we give you a little twist on your everyday spring roll with Chef Michael Shikany's Gingembr Coconut Milk Braised Brisket Spring Rolls. This dish is bursting with flavor and the right amount of crunch.
Braised Brisket Spring Rolls
Truffle Mac & Cheese
If you prefer something a little more traditional, check out Smith & Wollensky's Truffle Mac & Cheese. This creamy dish is topped with bread crumbs and the wonderful truffle oil makes it simply irresistible.
Next on our list is a dish that can be served with caramelized onions or diced bacon. And who doesn't love bacon? Check out BLT Steak's delicious popovers that are quick and easy to make.
Just in case you wanted a few more dishes, we asked our team to put together a small list of their homemade favorites.
5 Layer Dip
1 layer sour cream
1 layer crumbled blue cheese dressing
1 layer of chopped chives
1 layer of shredded cheese
* Layer refried beans, blue cheese, and shredded cheese. Put in oven at 350 degrees until cheese is melted. Layer sour cream, then chives and serve with tortilla chips.
1 finely chopped onion
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
2 red chilies, seeded and finely chopped
Juice of 1 lime
Salt and pepper to taste
Salt, garlic powder, and white pepper - to taste
* Peel avocados. Combine all ingredients and mix together. Serve with tortilla chips.
1 1/2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
1 large egg
2 tbsp rosemary
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper
2 pounds ground turkey
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
* Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients together and make mini balls. Place on cookie sheet or greased pan. Bake for about 20 mins or until outside is browned and inside is a decent pink (cook longer if well-done is desired). Serve.
