Our 5 Favorite Pizzas

1 The Big Cheese

The Big Cheese must being doing something right after 27 years of serving delicious cheesy pies to South Miami! What sets them apart? Could it be their rich and buttery Grande Mozzarella from Wisconsin? Or perhaps its that thick and crispy dough made from all trump of wheat? Whatever it is, we'll probably love it in another three decades!

2 Harry's Pizzeria

Harry's Pizzeria consistently serves up perfectly hand-formed, thin-crust pizzas. The house made dough is made fresh daily with a combination of wheat and white double zero flours, Michael's Genuine Brew on tap, a touch of honey and extra virgin olive oil.

Each pie is made with a ton of TLC. Our favorite is the Short Rib pizza. The short rib is wet rubbed with a mixture of spices, porcini and canola oil, and sits overnight in the walk-in cooler to marinate. The next day, it is seared on a roasting rack in our conventional oven, and then transferred to a pan and covered to slow roast for three hours. It is shredded and lands on the pie dough with onions that have been caramelized for an hour in butter, extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper, as well as the gruyere. When it comes out, local arugula hits the top, and of course a little drizzle of the Lucini Italia extra virgin olive oil.

3 Frankie's Pizza

Frankie's is still run by Frankie’s daughters Renee and Roxanne Pasquarella. After 55 years on Bird Road, they're still serving delicious square shaped light and crispy pie and have recently been awarded Best Independent Pizzeria in South Florida. 4 Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza

The key to this unique pizza… Coal Fire! The oven temperatures can reach such high internal temperatures which drastically reduces cooking time to 4 minutes. This short cooking time prevents the crust from drying out, so we get a perfectly crisp crust around the edges and chewy dough throughout! Of course, Anthony's combines this technique with top-quality ingredients to create a consistently good pizza.

5 Andiamo!

Since 2001, Andiamo delivers an authentic pie to the MIMO district. Located in a historical landmarked glass building, Andiamo is a unique space for friends to gather or watch a major event on the giant projection screens. Their award winning pizza is reminiscent of the traditional North Eastern kind using plenty of fresh ingredients and dough made fresh daily.
