A Rhône Valley Wine Dinner at CARBONE VINO in Miami: Pairing Heritage and Indulgence
March 30, 2026
There’s a moment at the Miami Open usually between matches, somewhere in the heat and the movement, when you realize the tennis is only part of the story.
This year, for me, that moment belonged entirely to Lacoste.
I didn’t expect it. I came for the matches, the energy, the spectacle of world-class tennis under the Miami sun. But what I found instead was something far more immersive: a seamless intersection of sport, design, hospitality, and culture, curated with a level of intention that quietly outshined everything else around it.

A Brand That Understands Its Environment
Lacoste has been part of the Miami Open for over a decade, eleven years now as a Platinum sponsor and official outfitter. It’s easy to overlook what that really means until you see it up close. The brand isn’t just present. It’s embedded.

From the uniforms worn by ball kids and staff to the players themselves, Daniil Medvedev and Grigor Dimitrov moving across the court in custom Lacoste kits there’s a continuity to the experience. A sense that the brand isn’t decorating the tournament, but shaping it. But it’s what happens beyond the court that defines the experience.

Club Lacoste: Where Tennis Meets Miami Beach
The first stop was Club Lacoste at The Miami Beach EDITION, and it immediately reframed what a tennis activation could be.

Set against the backdrop of the Atlantic, the space felt less like an event and more like a perfectly composed scene. A glossy dark-green tennis court sat directly on the sand, bold, architectural, unmistakably Lacoste. Around it, daybeds, parasols, and beach huts created a courtside lounge that blurred the line between sport and leisure.
Guests moved effortlessly between the court and the beach, while Lacoste ambassadors like Venus Williams, Medvedev, and Dimitrov mingled with invited guests.

Cocktails circulated, most notably the Le Chose, a signature nod to René Lacoste himself alongside light bites that felt intentionally unfussy, allowing the setting to remain the focus. It was, in every sense, a reimagining of tennis culture through a Miami lens.
Café Lacoste: A Study in Subtle Indulgence
Back at Hard Rock Stadium, the experience shifted but the philosophy remained.
Café Lacoste, the brand’s pop-up concept, offered a quieter kind of luxury. Inspired by its Paris flagship, the café felt like a natural extension of the Lacoste universe, where sport meets French art de vivre.
There was something unexpectedly satisfying about the details: the Croco Waffle, equal parts playful and refined; the balance of vanilla and pistachio ice cream; the Croco Water, a refreshing blend of coconut water, matcha, and ginger that felt perfectly calibrated for the Miami heat.

The VIP Suite: Where Everything Comes Together
But the defining moment the one that made everything click was inside the Lacoste VIP suite.
It’s difficult to articulate what separates a good hospitality space from a great one. It’s not just the view, though the vantage point over the courts was exceptional. It’s not just the service, though it was seamless. It’s the feeling.

Inside the suite, everything felt aligned. The design, understated yet unmistakably Lacoste. The crowd, a mix of global guests, tastemakers, and insiders who understood the nuance of the experience. The pacing never rushed, never stagnant.
You could watch the match, step back for a drink, have a conversation, return to the action. It flowed.

And that’s when it became clear: Lacoste hadn’t just created activations around the Miami Open, they had created the best version of it.
What makes Lacoste’s presence so compelling is that it doesn’t try to compete with the tournament it enhances it.

There’s a restraint to the brand’s approach a confidence in its identity. It doesn’t need to be loud. It doesn’t need to over-explain itself. It simply builds environments that feel good to be in. And in a city like Miami, where everything is amplified, that kind of precision stands out.

The Unexpected Highlight
By the end of the day, I realized something I hadn’t anticipated. The matches were incredible. The energy was undeniable. But the moments I kept thinking about the ones that lingered weren’t just on the court.
They were at Club Lacoste, with the ocean in the background. At Café Lacoste, between matches. Inside the suite, where everything felt effortless.
At the Miami Open, Lacoste didn’t just show up they elevated the experience.
