It's that time of year again, that's right! The Holiday Season has arrived and with it so has our Annual Thanksgiving day Rundown.
As the rest of the country braces for the winter ahead, South Floridians seem to relish in their envy. Needless to say, Miami is a definitive escape from traditional holiday celebrations and it all begins with Thanksgiving. From special set menus and catering options to a Thanksgiving meal by the water, there’s something for everyone to give thanks for - at home or out and about! These South Florida dining destinations may be closed Thanksgiving Day, but not to worry — they’re bringing on some friendly festivities on Wednesday, November 23, and Friday, November 25 instead. From extended happy hours to cocktail specials, these hot spots are must-visits for any friend group to express their gratitude for one another while enjoying great food and drinks.
Orno at THesis Hotel in Coral Gables
Orno, Chef Niven Patel’s new American concept that opened one year ago inside the THesis Hotel, will serve a Thanksgiving feast on Thurs. Nov. 24 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., consisting of a plated 4-course prix-fixe menu ($85/person). Guests can indulge in a Wahoo Crudo-cranberry tartare with mint as a first course, a Pumpkin Soup-crème Fraiche with Pepitas as a second course and share family style the third course which includes, Wood Roasted Tilefish with Farm Beans and Saffron Aioli, Herb Crusted Turkey Roulade, Farm Creamed Spinach and Roasted Yams with honey butter. Finish off your Thanksgiving feast with their fourth and final course, a decadent dessert that will be revealed on that day! If you want to stick with their regular stand-out dishes you can as their usual a la carte menu will also be available.

Villa Azur
Miami Beach’s Villa Azur is adding an Epicurean twist to this year’s Thanksgiving. Catch a very special edition of the supper club’s weekly dinner party on Thanksgiving Thursday, where in addition to Villa Azur’s regular French menu, the restaurant is offering a three-course prix-fixe menu featuring flavorful holiday dishes for $130+ per person, including the Lobster and Butternut Squash Bisque or Roasted Beet Salad appetizers; Roasted Turkey Breast or Half Rack of Lamb mains; sides of Brussel Sprouts, Mash Potatoes, Fries, Marshmallow Gratin Mashed Sweet Potato and more; and Roasted Pumpkin Pie or Pumpkin Ice Cream for dessert.

Casa Sensei
Take a gastronomic twist on the tradition this November 23 for Friendsgiving fun at Casa Sensei, the Pan-Asian and Latin fusion restaurant docked among the canals of Fort Lauderdale. Casa Sensei is celebrating the gift of friendship on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving by offering guests everyone’s favorite Thanksgiving dessert — in cocktail form. The Pumpkin Pie Martini special is the sweetest way to celebrate the holiday with friends, featuring Reposado tequila, vanilla liqueur, pumpkin spice, pumpkin puree, and fresh orange and lemon juice ($15). Casa Sensei will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Italica Midtown
Before indulging in typical Thanksgiving fare, visit Italica Midtown for an Italian take on Friendsgiving, sipping from one of many fizzy Aperol selections and biting into cheesy gourmet pizzas. Italica is Midtown Miami’s very first spritz and pizza bar, serving up classic Italian ingredients through a modern lens. Friendsgiving patrons can enjoy happy hour specials from 4 - 7 p.m., making the most of the night before the following day’s activities. Italica will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

The international comfort food hotspot Negroni Bistro & Sushi Bar is moving its weekly Ladies Night for one night only. Instead of its typical Thursday, visit the restaurant Wednesday, November 23 for the ultimate Friendsgiving — girlfriends edition. All ladies are welcome from 6 p.m. - close to experience Negroni’s elegant indoor and outdoor bars and rejoice in a girl’s night out with DJs spinning Afrobeats complete with FREE Negroni Sbagliatos with Prosecco. As an added bonus, guests can enjoy Negroni’s daily Happy Hour specials from 4 - 7 p.m., with $8 cocktails, wine, and food pairings. Negroni will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
