Miami’s Must-Try Brunch Spots
April 15, 2026On Saturday, May 16, Food, Wine & Fete returns to Historic Virginia Key Beach Park for its most expansive and immersive edition yet, offering an all-inclusive celebration of Caribbean cuisine, Soca music, and diaspora creativity. What began in 2019 as a passion project by Vanessa James and Marcos Rodriguez has evolved into one of Miami’s most anticipated cultural events—a gathering where food, music, and identity intersect in vivid, unforgettable ways.
A Culinary Journey Across the Caribbean
At its core, Food, Wine & Fete is a living, breathing culinary map of the Caribbean. Rather than a traditional tasting event, the experience unfolds as a continuous exploration—guests moving from station to station, each one offering a distinct expression of island flavor.
Throughout the grounds, an impressive lineup of chefs brings the region’s diversity to life. From the refined heat of Scotch bonnet-driven dishes by Chef Garfield Seivwright Jr. to the bold, soulful cooking of Chef Irie, every plate tells a story rooted in heritage and innovation. Rising culinary voices and established names alike—from Chef Alain Lemaire to Chef Mimi Charles—contribute to a dynamic, ever-evolving menu.
Along Foodie Avenue, guests encounter everything from Indo-Caribbean curry creations to artisanal pastries and small-batch sauces, each offering a glimpse into the next generation of Caribbean culinary entrepreneurship.
Where Music, Movement, and Culture Collide
As the evening unfolds, the energy shifts. The steady rhythm of Soca builds, and the festival transforms into something more kinetic—more electric.
Headlining the night is V'ghn, delivering the infectious sound of Grenada’s SpiceMas spirit, alongside a lineup that includes live performances, DJ sets, and unexpected crossovers—like an artist-led cook-off blending music and cuisine in real time.
This is where Food, Wine & Fete distinguishes itself. It is not simply an event to attend—it is one to move through, to dance within, to fully feel. The word bacchanal is not used lightly here.
A Passport Without Departure
For 2026, the experience deepens with immersive activations from destinations including Grenada, Barbados, Antigua & Barbuda, Saint-Martin/Sint Maarten, and Nevis—each bringing its own identity, traditions, and flavors to the shoreline.
In one moment, you’re inside a Grenadian rum shack, surrounded by the pulse of Jab Jab culture. In the next, you’re tasting French-Caribbean cuisine from Saint-Martin or discovering the mango-rich heritage of Nevis. The effect is seamless—a multi-sensory journey that collapses distance and brings the Caribbean into a single, shared space.
Community Celebration
What elevates Food, Wine & Fete beyond its culinary and musical offerings is its sense of purpose. Designed as a celebration of the Caribbean diaspora, the event serves as both a cultural platform and a communal homecoming—where stories are told through food, where traditions are honored, and where new connections are formed.
From curated pop-ups and brand showcases to experiential lounges and giveaways, every detail reflects an intentional effort to highlight the richness and diversity of Caribbean culture—not as a singular identity, but as a vibrant, multifaceted tapestry.
As the night reaches its crescendo, a signature drone show finale illuminates the Miami sky, closing the experience with a moment that feels both futuristic and deeply rooted in celebration.
