South Beach Seafood Festival Returns With 4 Days of Chef Dinners, Showdowns, and a Beachfront Feast
August 26, 2026Miami diners won't need a flight to Mexico for a taste of Michelin-starred Mexican cooking this September.
On Tuesday, September 1, recently opened Brickell Key restaurant The Mexican Miami will welcome Chef Eduardo Morali of Pangea, the acclaimed Monterrey restaurant known for its contemporary interpretation of northeastern Mexican cuisine, for an exclusive one-day culinary collaboration.
The event marks the second collaboration between the two restaurants following a successful dinner at The Mexican's flagship Dallas location. This time, Morali will join The Mexican Executive Chef Santiago Hiriart in Miami for a tasting experience that brings together Pangea's Michelin-recognized cooking and The Mexican's polished approach to modern Mexican hospitality.
From Monterrey to Miami

Pangea has spent decades helping define contemporary Mexican dining in Monterrey and has been recognized among Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants for the past decade. The restaurant has also maintained its Michelin star for the past two years.
For The Mexican, which recently expanded from Dallas to Brickell Key, the collaboration is also an opportunity to connect its Miami audience with the culinary traditions that inspired the restaurant.
"The roots of Mexican culture are the heart of what we do, and partnering with Pangea again this year allows us to fuse our concepts to create a completely new approach for guests to enjoy this time around," says The Mexican owner and founder Roberto González Alcalá.
What's on the Menu

The four-course tasting menu will spotlight ingredients and techniques that balance Mexican flavors with the precision expected from a Michelin-starred kitchen.
Among the highlights is Scallop Raspado, pairing fresh scallops with tomatillo, green apple, and fragrant Kaffir lime.
A Summer Corn Velouté takes a richer turn, combining sweet seasonal corn with foie gras crémeux and chilhuacle chile.
For the main course, Wagyu Carne Asada elevates one of Mexico's most recognizable preparations with barbacoa-stuffed onion, smoked potato, and charred chile adobo.
Together, the dishes offer a glimpse into the contemporary Mexican cooking that has made Pangea one of Monterrey's most celebrated restaurants, presented through a menu created specifically for this limited Miami appearance.
Only 350 Seats Are Available

The collaboration will take place across two service windows, from 12 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m., with only 350 tickets available.
The four-course experience is priced at $225 per guest, with an optional $85 wine pairing for diners looking to turn the meal into a complete tasting experience.
Given the limited number of seats—and the fact that the collaboration will happen for one day only—early reservations are encouraged.
The dinner also offers another reason to explore The Mexican itself. The restaurant's new Miami outpost pairs Northern Mexican cuisine with an extensive tequila and mezcal program and immersive interiors designed by internationally acclaimed interior architect Paulina Morán.
For one night, however, the focus will be squarely on what happens when two contemporary Mexican kitchens come together—one newly arrived in Miami and the other carrying one of Mexico's most coveted culinary distinctions.
